Who Are We?

FunDraw.Com is the brainchild and creation of Greg Bulmash, best known for writing The WASHED-UPdate for IMDb.com from 1996-1998 and for his infamous urban legend that has had many people thinking he is (depending on the version going around) a 17-year-old McDonalds employee or a 75-year-old Wal-Mart greeter.

Currently, FunDraw.com has no employees, just its creator wearing many hats. So who are we? We are Greg. Resistance is futile.

How FunDraw.com Came To Be

Oddly enough, I started out to create an inspirational quotes site, doing a whole viral thing with cool quotes in soothing animations. It was to be called "One Minute Inspirations". I spent weeks poring through collections of quotes, trying to find just the right ones.

But, since I was trying to make a go of building web sites for fun and profit, I also had to figure out ways to make a little money from it.

I thought some people might connect with a quote enough that they'd enjoy having it on a t-shirt, coffee mug, or bumper sticker. But creating 800 t-shirt designs was a huge task. And then, what if someone loved the quote but hated my design?

Wouldn't it be great if people could design their own?... BOING! A lightbulb flashed in my head.

Now, I'm no great artist, but I did know how to lay out some art other people had done with a little text, maybe some colored shapes, and voila... a shirt design. That's how I built Fun Baby Clothes.

So the thought then turned to how to make something simple enough that someone who wasn't tech or design savvy could make something they'd love in 5-10 minutes, but with enough power under the hood to let people get adventurous too. The result is FunDraw.com.

It cost me 10% of my hair going grey over 6 very long months, some cash (mainly for equipment and clipart - all the programming is either my code or open-source code), and a few sleepless nights. But here it is, in all its splendor (or lack thereof). I hope you like it, that you'll come back, and that you'll tell your friends.
